CloudCore Networks - Lecturer Guide

What is CloudCore?

CloudCore Networks is an educational simulation of a cloud services company. Students interact with the site to gather information for assignments - reviewing policies, analysing documents, and interviewing AI employees (chatbots).

What Can Be Customised?

You can tailor CloudCore for your unit’s specific learning objectives:

Customisation Example

Timed Release Unlock interviews in Week 5, incident reports in Week 9
Employee Access Allow access to HR Manager but not the CISO
Unit Password Set a password students use to access protected content
Business Hours Chatbots only available 7am-7pm weekdays (simulates real office)

Frequently Asked Questions

When will my changes go live?

Typically within 1-2 business days of your request.

Can I change things mid-semester?

Yes, but give at least 48 hours notice. Avoid changes during assignment submission periods.

What if students share the password?

The password is per-unit, not per-student. This is by design - focus is on learning, not security. If you need individual tracking, let me know.

Why can’t students access chatbots at 2am?

Simulates realistic business hours. If a student’s assignment is due at 9am, they can’t interview the CEO at 3am the night before. This encourages planning and time management.

Can I see what students are accessing?

Currently no real-time analytics. If you need evidence of engagement for assessment, students can screenshot their chat sessions or include interview transcripts in submissions.

What if a chatbot gives wrong information?

The AI employees are based on small language models and may occasionally give inconsistent answers. This is acknowledged to students and can be a learning opportunity - in real consulting, you’d seek clarification or a second opinion.

Can I add my own content?

Yes! You can request: - Custom policy documents - Additional employee profiles - Specific scenario details

Send the content and I’ll add it to the site.
